Nature photographer Mads Hagen
Photographing nature in Denmark has over the years opened my eyes to the fragility of the natural world. Fragility is the focal point of this new collection featuring photos taken all over Denmark of a wide array of species. With this collection and this project I seek to celebrate the resilience of life while acknowledging the fragility of existence.
We share the fragility of existence with these beautiful creatures and I hope to create a connection with the nature around us. You can take part in that journey with a print from this project.

MASAI MARA WORKSHOP, MAY 2024
In this Danish lead workshop, join Mads Hagen as he ventures deep into Africa to one of the greatest nature reserves on the planet: The Masai Mara. Join wildlife photographers Mads Hagen and Ole Ekelund on this adventure and experience the wilderness of Africa for yourself.
I’m lying completely still under the ghillie blanket. All around me I can hear nothing but the whistling of the wind in the long grass. My mission is to photograph one of Denmark’s rarest owls before it is too late.
During my upbringing on Lolland-Falster, I never considered the region to be anything special. But when I one day went for a walk with my camera, I caught a glimpse of nature up close and saw wilderness right in the eyes. It was the start of the adventure: ‘Mit Lolland-Falster.’
