MACROPHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP 2023
This workshop is sold out. If you want to get on the waiting list, complete the booking form below.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Butterflies flying from flower to flower in the hilly landscape, frogs calling from the small waterholes and the first warblers singing from their vantage points. The location is the iconic Røsnæs in central Denmark and this varied landscape forms the framework for this macro photography workshop, which has butterflies as its main focus.
Røsnæs offers a lot of different butterflies, such as the rare Oberthür’s grizzled skipper that can only be found here. In addition, Røsnæs is home to a large population of the beautiful and large glanville fritillary, which we also have to work with, as well as a multitude of other macro species.
During the workshop we will learn how to:
- learn how to set up a camera for macro photography.
- Learn about the identification and approach of butterflies and other insects.
- Talk about what it means to work expressively as a photographer.
This workshop will be held on the Røsnæshalvøen, which offers some of Denmark’s best nature and great diversity, absolutely perfect for macro photography. It overflows with beautiful butterflies, beetles and hoverflies in the varied landscape. The Røsnæs Peninsula is, among other things, home to one of Denmark’s rarest butterflies: Oberthür’s grizzled skipper.
We will meet at Røsnæs naturskole on Røsnæsvej, 4400 kalundborg. We meet at 06:00.
The date is Saturday 13/5-2023.
The duration of the workshop is 5 hours, and we meet at 6:00. It fits with the fact that the butterflies are gradually gaining wings. If we are lucky, we find them before they get hot and therefore have very good opportunities to work with them.
You do not need to have a deep knowledge of species or in-depth knowledge of macro photography to participate in this workshop, but it is expected that you have the equipment to get started. From there we’ll probably figure it out together 🙂
You have to bring:
- Camera, either mirrorless or DSLR.
- Macro lens.
- Food and water.
The workshop will consist of 4 participants plus Mads as your teacher.
